To Our Military Kids
Eight homes in a lifetime, not one the same,
Each new place a chapter, adventure by name.
PCS never shorter than three thousand miles,
Yet you faced every journey with brave little smiles.
Four dance studios, leotards packed with care,
Twirl after twirl, from here to there.
You’ve lived where others dream to play,
Turning “just another move” into a magical way.
You saw Japan through baby eyes so wide,
Watched snow fall on the Grand Canyon at Christmastime.
Met animals in San Diego, rode coasters in Cali,
Danced with Mickey in Tokyo and sang songs in a ice rally.
From Universal spells to Legoland bricks,
From Nats to Padres to Rays with your glove ready to flick.
You’ve cheered from bleachers in every new town,
Each game a memory, a new friend found.
National Parks? Too many to name—
Each one a playground, no two the same.
You’ve laughed, you’ve cried, you’ve learned to be tough,
When goodbyes came early, and days felt rough.
Resilience built in the heart of your soul,
Finding sunshine no matter the role.
You’ve grown in ways many never will know,
Rooted in courage, destined to grow.
Here’s to you—our sweet kids, our pride,
With strength that runs oceans and worlds wide.
The military life isn’t easy or small,
But you, sweet kids, have stood tall through it all.
Here’s to our military kids — adventurers, dreamers, warriors of heart.
