Happy Friday, Friends!
Have you PCS’ed to New Orleans recently? Are you missing fall weather? This New England transplant sure is! A few weeks ago, when it was still in the 90’s here in Louisiana, I started searching for fall activities. I was longing for cooler weather, changing leaves, and pumpkins. The first two have still alluded me, but I found a great pumpkin patch to share with y’all!
Mrs. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch is about an hour outside of New Orleans. It will take you a little longer if you’re driving from NAS JRB Belle Chasse. Throw the kids in the car just before naptime and enjoy the drive with your spouse.
Mrs. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch is located in Hammond, LA, and their patch is open 7 days a week through November 8th. One thing we loved about this farm is that there is one entrance fee, and no additional charges for activities once you’re in. The cost is $7 per child (newborn and up), and free for adults! Admission includes one pumpkin as well. This is so different from many of the other patches closer to New Orleans, where you will be charged to enter and then charged for each activity. It was nice knowing the price for our family before we went.
This patch is great for kids of all ages. My little one loved having some sensory play time in the corn bin.
There were animals to see, zip lines to ride, and jumpy structures to bounce on.
There were also TONS of adorably decorated areas to get great pictures. We saw lots of little ones being propped up with pumpkins to get their first pumpkin patch pictures!
The farm is large, and there are plenty of restrooms and places to picnic. You could easily spend a few hours here.
There are different types of swings and see-saws. We even spotted the cutest Mater in one field!
Overall, Mrs. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch was a great value and absolutely worth the drive. We are already looking forward to their strawberry patches in the spring!
Happy Fall, Y’All!
