If you PCS to the south in the middle of summer, you will quickly find and befriend all if the indoor playgrounds in your area! Here in Louisiana at MARFORRES/NAS JRB Belle Chasse are lucky to have a great one so close.
The Monkey Room is located just across the bridge in New Orleans proper. From the bases just mentioned, this indoor playground is less than a 25 minute drive. Although it is in the city, The Monkey Room has it’s own free parking lot – this is huge when you are trying to wrestle multiple kids in and out of the car! Even on a weekend when the lot was full, we easily found street parking right next to the building.
What we LOVE about The Monkey Room is that it has a huge play structure for the big kids, as well as a good-sized soft play area for the crawlers and new walkers.
You can purchase snacks and drinks for a reasonable price, including juice boxes and animal crackers.
There are plenty of tables and chairs for parents and caretakers that surround the play structures. If our kids were just a little older, this would be a fantastic place to get some work done while they play!
If you’re looking for a place to hold a birthday party, there is also a separate area where you can host a private bounce house and have plenty of seating, as well.
The Monkey Room is located at 1501 Religious Street, New Orleans, LA.
