The Padres are a beloved institution of San Diego. Their stadium is right in the heart of the city and going to a game is an iconic San Diego experience.
One of our favorite things about the Padres is the community they build and support in their fans. They have many theme games and specialty nights. Our personal favorite community they are committed to: the military.
Anyone who has been stationed in the San Diego area has likely seen some of the many Padres tickets donated to military families through local USO, ASYMCA, or ITT offices. The Padres like bringing military families into the fold of the local fan community.
Something fewer people seem to know about is that the Padres always offer 25% off tickets to active duty military members. On military appreciation Sundays they offer a 50% discount on tickets (!).
You can buy the discounted tickets online. The active duty service member will need a GovX account to verify their service. They log in through their GovX account and can purchase the discounted tickets. The discount is extended to every category of seat in the stadium.
I recently took our family to a military appreciation Sunday and used the 50% discount to secure premiere level tickets. Our seats had an amazing view and allowed us access to the Omni Hotel Premiere Club. The club is a large space with indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the field. They have a buffet and bar exclusive to premiere club seat ticket holders. This was a fantastic option to have with a toddler- we took many walk and stretch breaks in the club. This allowed everyone in our party to watch the entire game without meltdowns.
When we were not taking advantage of the premiere club we could order food and drinks from our seats from a variety of favorite food offerings at the park -of which there are many! Petco Park boasts a large variety of food offerings. Many of them are satellites of local favorite locations such as Pizza Port, Hodad’s, and even a little Seaside Market, among others.
We had a great time and made great family memories. We felt truly supported and appreciated by the Padres in extending the deep discount to us to enjoy a fun family experience only to be had in San Diego.
