DISCLAIMER: I (Heather) personally reached out to Goodbyn to ask them if they would be willing to do a giveaway for Month of the Military Child. I enjoyed their products and had personally purchased them for years. They wholeheartedly agreed to providing two packs for giveaways and sent us, the MilMomAdventures bloggers, the packs as well to review. While some of the products mentioned were free and given to us, I had already purchased and personally recommended the brand. The opinions are our own.
The container I use to pack lunch for three of us if oftentimes my Goodbyn Bynto box (it’s a bento box, but yes, it is spelled that way.)
When we lived in Japan, recycling and trash rules were stringent. When we added a child to the mix, I wanted to find totally recyclable boxes what I knew the child couldn’t break (as much as I love glass containers, I didn’t forsee a five-year-old carrying a class container to school without the potential of breakage). I found Goodbyn products – free of BPA and all that other yucky stuff, and 100% recyclable after use. Now that we have added more kids to the mix, I love that I can pack enough for three of us in the box, or pack two byntos if the whole family is out.
Everything is top rack dishwasher safe, which means less hand washing. The colors of the products are beautiful and vibrant. We loved making a healthy portion-controlled lunch. And we love the separate bins in the bento, because our kids are picky about food touching. It means a sandwich won’t get soggy with berry or veggie juice!
Since I purchased my first Goodbyn product, they have come out with a whole line of other products:
~ Dippers: great for packing vitamins if you will be out early in the morning; these two containers together would be great for peanut butter on the go, or used in conjunction with snackers like below.
~Snacks: these containers are great for quick treats like sliced veg, fruit or small chips and cookies. Two separate containers means you won’t have “red juice on the yogurt”…
~Insulated Food Jar: There is also a metal container that is also 100% recyclable! The container is big enough to bring a larger entrée on the go. The hot container kept our noodles warm from breakfast time (when we made them) until noon when it was time to eat! This 12 oz insulated food jar has a string handle that can also be hung on a stroller ring or over the top of a lunch bag.
~Spork: I will be the first to admit that I often forget spoons or forks for lunch (which is why I always grab a couple extra when we eat out to stuff in the diaper bag just in case) – the spork fits neatly into a bento container and has both the spoon and fork in one so I won’t be forgetting one. The spoon is so deep, making it easier for kids to get food on it.
~Stickers: We especially loved the allergy information sticker – what an awesome idea. Dishwasher safe. Kids can decorate their containers. Need I say more?
I recently found the Goodbyn Insulated Roll Top bag to store all the snacks in. It has a larger handle than most lunch bags, and with the roll top, I can secure it to the hook of the stroller without a worry that it will fall out of the bottom of the stroller or hit the stroller wheel on walks. Keeping the ice pack in this pack kept our lunch and snacks cool for 8 hours we were out. The ice pack was still cold when putting it back in the freezer when we were cleaning out the bag later that day.
Going on adventures creates memories for all of us, and being prepared with meals on the go helps the pocketbook too!
